Pursuant to Florida Statute section 155.40 the Board of Directors determined at the public meeting held June 26, 2025 that it is in the best interest of our community to initiate the request for proposal process in search of a qualified partner, lessor, affiliate, purchaser or joint venture participant.
Please be advised that DCHD has initiated the request for proposal for a potential affiliation, sale, lease, merger, partnership, or joint venture. A copy of the request for proposal may be viewed on the DMH website at www.dmh.org.

A public meeting was held on July 31,2025 for the purpose to allow all interested parties the opportunity to be heard with respect to the sale, lease, merger, partnership, or joint venture of DeSoto Memorial Hospital.
At the conclusion of the proposal period (October 1st) a subsequent public meeting will be scheduled to review the proposals submitted. The Board may select 2 or 3 finalists and request that each make a presentation at a public meeting to be scheduled pursuant to the terms of the statute. ​​

A public meeting was held on Thursday, October 16th a 5:30 p.m. Three finalists were selected to make presentations to the Board at a public meeting scheduled for Monday, November 10th at 10 a.m.

Pursuant to Florida Statute 286.0105, if a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered, he or she will need a record of the proceedings and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
