Inpatient Services

Inpatient general medical and surgical care is delivered in a state of-the-art setting on the second floor of the new addition.

All rooms are private, and feature generous bathroom sizes, love seats, and chairs for patient and family/visitor comfort.  All rooms are identical, meaning the bed, bathroom, and sink are in the same place in each and every room.  This feature was purposeful during construction planning to enhance patient safety.

A large central nurse's center in a rotunda like area assures that nursing staff is only steps away from patients.

If a patient's condition warrants more interventions or observations than normally provided on a generally medical-surgical floor, DMH offers an 8-bed general Intensive Care Unit, also located on the second floor.  Each private room allows continuous observation by nursing staff, and is equipped with monitoring and resuscitative equipment, all within close proximity of the Cardio-Pulmonary Services Department.

Nurses and assistive staff are skilled, caring individuals who will assist you to improve or maintain your health condition.  The nursing model at DeSoto Memorial focuses on making sure the patient is the center of every decision we make, every interaction we have....every patient, every time.

While people don't want to be in a hospital, know that as your community hospital, we are here for you.
