2008 DMH Foundation Letter
Dear Friends:
The holiday season has always been special to me and I hope you and your family enjoy this special time of the year as well. All of us at Desoto Memorial Hospital are determined to meet the needs of our community. So much so, we invested $22 million to better serve you and your community.
Since its humble origins in 1913, DeSoto Memorial Hospital has done much more than invest in technology, training and facilities in support of the people of this region it has reshaped and often saved the lives of countless patients who have passed through its doors, often in crisis, only to have a fragile life repaired or to see a loved one restored to good health. None of these investments could ever have been made without the generosity and continued support of the thousands of men, women and families of this region who have shown the vision and the leadership needed to ensure that quality healthcare was available in our community.
Working together through the most challenging of times, DeSoto Memorial Hospital and the people of this region have weathered challenges large and small. Two World Wars, the Great Depression, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and September 11th have not deterred the members of the community who have always known that superior health care is as invaluable and irreplaceable to a community as good health is to an individual.
Friends, as a donor, you understand that significant changes in the funding of our healthcare system are sure to come as the health insurance system undergoes significant review. The certainty of change, when added
to our continued commitment to acquiring the latest medical technology, present an ongoing challenge for DeSoto Memorial Hospital that can only be bridged with the support of this community. Knowing that it is only with your continued confidence that we can meet these ambitious goals, I write to you today to ask you to make the decision, early and generously, to renew your support of the DeSoto Memorial Hospital Foundation and our Annual Appeal with a gift of $50 or more. In doing so, you invest in our region while providing us with the resources to continue to serve our community in what has become the most financially challenging period that many Americans have ever experienced.
Each of us at DeSoto Memorial Hospital is honored by the encouragement we have received through the selfless support of this community, and I thank you in advance for your continued friendship and your generosity.
Sincerely,
Vincent A. Sica
